Small grant scheme launched in Makwanpur:

With guidance from representatives of PLAN International, we set up a small grant scheme for women who were most in need (i.e. most marginalized due to the caste system, poverty, dependants disability etc)

Initially six women were awarded grants to cultivate ginger. As the grant was repaid over the next twelve months (plus a small amount of interest), money was ploughed back into the scheme enabling other women to benefit.

Four of our trustees visited Chitwan National Cancer Hospital to deliver donations of wound care dressings and pressure relieving aids. The palliative care centre had just converted one small ward into a paediatric palliative care unit.  Whilst there, the trustees purchased beds, storage units and play equipment for the young patients.

At the request of the nursing staff, two of the trustees who are both qualified nurses delivered training on management of prevention of pressure ulcers, wound care and administration of medication via a syringe driver.
